What is your attachment style?
by Ron Huxley on August 15, 2010
Everyone has one according to theorist like John Bolwby,
Mary Ainsworth and even
Sigmund Freud. If your attachment was a strong one with your caregiver you will have better communication skills, more satisfying relationships and be a better equipped parent. Attachment is probably best demonstrated in a the behavior of the 1 to 2 year old child with separation anxiety being a classic example. Children who have been abused show very “insecure” attachments. Parents who have had this type of childhood will find parenting more difficult than others.
